The Emotionally Inclusive Practices Masterclass is designed as a tool to provide professional development opportunities for leaders within the group community. In this masterclass, we will break down each part of the EIP practices into small videos and allow master trainers to facilitate. We will also meet live on this platform to discuss real-life situations and applications.

Building Educator Emotional Intelligence

Practice 1: Emotional Intelligence (EQ) in the Emotionally-Inclusive Practices Framework. Emotional Intelligence is the ability to understand, use, and manage your own emotions in positive ways to relieve stress, communicate effectively, empathize with others, overcome challenges, and defuse conflict.

Building a Restorative Community in the Classroom

Practice 2: Restorative Community in the Emotionally-Inclusive Practices Framework. In this course we focus on four core practices; Building classroom community, setting common expectations for adults and students, implementing proactive accountability for students, and the use of restorative practices to repair relationships.

Creating an Unbiased Learning Environment

Practice 3: Unbiased in the Emotionally-Inclusive Practices Framework includes educating ourselves about unconscious biases, exploring what unconscious biases we might hold, evaluating how those biases might impact the greater community, and executing on strategies that reduce the negative impact of biases.

Building a Learning Community that is Culturally Conscious

Practice 4: Cultural Consciousness in the Emotionally - Inclusive Practices Framework includes four core priorities. Those priorities include educating ourselves about our own culture and the culture of others, exploring the impact culture has on the learning environment, evaluating the intersection, commonalities, and differences of cultures in our community, and execute on strategies that allow for cultural equity, inclusion, and belonging in our learning environment.

Developing a Trauma Sensitive Learning Environment 

Practice 5: Trauma Sensitive in the Emotionally-Inclusive Practices Framework includes four important priorities. These four priorities includes educating ourselves about trauma, exploring the impact trauma has on those who experience it, evaluating how a lack of trauma sensitivity might negatively impact the learning environment, and executing on strategies that allow a trauma sensitive environment to be created for those who need it.

Prioritizing Educational Equity 

Practice 6: Equitable in the Emotionally - Inclusive Practices Framework includes fore core practices. These four practices includes educating ourselves about educational equity, explore what educational inequity is and what causes it, evaluate the different types of inequity how we might be practicing in our schools, and execute on strategies that reduce the negative impact of inequity and create the systems that ensure educational equity for all.
